His education includes a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Protein Chemistry from the University of Victoria, as well as a B.Sc. in Biology and a Diploma in Health and Fitness studies from Simon Fraser University. He also has additional training in IV therapies, homeopathy and acupuncture.
Dr. Lescheid operated a successful Toronto-based naturopathic clinical practice and was a professor for five years at the CCNM where he taught Physiology and Microbiology, and was recognized for his excellence in teaching. As a nationally recognized expert in naturopathic medicine, he is frequently invited to speak at professional events and has published extensively on complementary and alternative medicine. He often holds seminars, including courses for continuing education credits for other medical professionals.
In 2006, Dr. Lescheid was appointed to the Expert Advisory Committee (EAC), an advisory board to Health Canada. He also is a member of the international Council for Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME), which regulates the quality of naturopathic education, and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) Government Relations Committee.
Although his practice extends over a broad range of health concerns, Dr. Lescheid takes a special interest in the immune system and infectious diseases. He also works with men’s health issues, overweight and obesity concerns and sports medicine.
Dr. David W. Lescheid’s philosophy: “I believe that the foundation of good, effective medicine is built upon understanding the physiological functions that have been altered to create the current signs and symptoms. Therefore, I will use all the current scientific evidence to develop a more complete understanding of each individual’s illness. A more detailed knowledge of physiology and pathology provides clues as to the best method of treatment or prevention. However, I also believe that for complete, long lasting healing to occur, some of the less tangible aspects of health like mental, emotional and spiritual health must also be addressed. The pathway from disease towards optimal health is a dynamic one that requires regular investment and commitment. Our collective role as patient and health care provider is to discover and remove the obstacles to cure and provide the building blocks necessary for the body to heal itself. I will do my best to provide each individual with the knowledge and support needed to rebalance their health and maximize their true life potential.”

Dr. Jacqueline Davies, ND, CBT

Prior to joining Pure Med Naturopathic Centre in Ottawa, Dr. Davies built a successful practice in a North Vancouver multidisciplinary clinic. She is trained as a primary care physician and welcomes patients of all ages for prevention and treatment. Although she works with many different conditions, Dr. Davies maintains a special interest in digestive disorders, women’s health, mental/emotional stress and peri-natal care. Also, because of her expertise in Bowen Therapy, she has treated many patients suffering from chronic pain.
Dr. Davies’ Medical Philosophy:
“No one is immune to the impacts of modern day living and many people don’t consider the stresses that trigger genetic pre-dispositions for disease. If you change the internal environment that allows disease to proliferate in the first place, you eliminate the space in which it thrives. Personally, I feel that true healing can only occur when change happens throughout all aspects of the human experience. It must ripple through the physical body, spirit and mind.”
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." - Albert Einstein
Before beginning her career in Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Davies worked in the health food industry, as well as international translation. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Victoria in Environmental Studies and Hispanic Studies, and has enjoyed many years of travel and involvement in the performing arts. Outside of the office you can find her teaching yoga or attending dance classes around the city.

Dr. Anouk Lepage-Chaumont, B.A. (Hon. Psych.), H.D., N.D.

Dr. Anouk Lepage-Chaumont is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, the only Canadian college to have a 4500-hour post-graduate program accredited by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. During her training, she was part of the Naturopathic Sports Medicine Group and did internships at Sherbourne Naturopathic Clinic specializing in HIV positive patients as well as at the naturopathic clinic for aboriginals, Anishnawbe. Furthermore, she has additional training in cosmetic acupuncture and intravenous therapy. Dr. Anouk Lepage-Chaumont has also been a homeopathic doctor since 1996 and has taught classical homeopathy for 3 years and hosted a weekly health segment on the French radio station Lov'Radio 104.9 Lachute and 102.1 Hawkesbury.
In her practice, Dr. Anouk Lepage-Chaumont has chosen to focus on functional medicine and therapeutic lifestyle changes through nutrition and exercise. Functional medicine is the study of the relationship between healthy cellular function and nutrition, as well as the scientific use of nutrients and botanicals to restore the cellular and biochemical equilibrium. Special areas of interest include, but are not restricted to: obesity, metabolic syndrome, cancer, gastro-intestinal problems and hormonal imbalance.
Dr. Lepage-Chaumont’s Philosophy:
“"The human body is amazing in the sense that it is both simple and absolutely complex. Health begins with proper nutrition and a balanced lifestyle but sometimes the body needs help from Mother Nature in order to regain a sense of balance. In these instances, the doctor is merely a facilitator in guiding the body on the road back to health. Take good care of your body and it will take care of you."
